I am working on my friends 1985 VW Golf 1.8 Gas Automatic. seems the Detent for the transmission shifter ( inside the trans) has broken.

Can anyone send me in the right direction to buy a used one of these?

( before we have to make one?)

The Spring Steel has given up.

Internal shift linkage 991 NLA you will have to look for a used part . Can it be welded?

Thanks for your input & interest.
Spring steel is not very welder friendly friction & heat takes out the annealing & makes it soft.
Fortunately I was able after 5+ hours of searching to fine one 100 miles from me New old stock! (shame to waste that kinda luck on a part LOL) .I go pick it up next week the part # for anyone else who might look for one is 010321221. #26 & 26A in drawing. I do not know the interchange for other vehicles. Thanks you so very much for your interest
