Exterior Aluminum Window Trim

I've tried for months to find something to clean the aluminum trim around the windows of my 2006 A4 with no luck. The aluminum trim around the trunk is easy to clean as are the chrome parts around the car's grille, but the window trim seems impossible. Has anyone come up with any solid methods for cleaning this stuff?

I've tried the mother's mag and aluminum polish and it didn't work. Considering how good that stuff is supposed to be, I wonder if it's even polishable. I also tried an aluminum lubricant someone recommended on a VW forum with no results, either. It shined up a little when wet but once it dried it became cloudy again.

Has anyone had any success cleaning/polishing this trim? If so, what have you used?

I also have a problem with the aluminum window trim on my 2006 A6 and have seen this on a lot of Audi's. Any suggestions? I've tried Mother's mag and aluminum polish, Brasso, wax, car polish, etc. with no results. Thanks for your help.

I saw your post a couple weeks ago and like you I have tried everything. And no help from the Audi dealership, where we just bought our pre-owned 2006 Audi A4. Today, I finally tried Quixx Repair Kit High Performance Scratch Remover, a German product. The window trim looks brand new. I only had to use the tubes #1 and #2 and not the sandpaper. I hope this helps.

Metallic Window Trim

Quixx Scratch Remover is a unique repair system that uses a German engineered process called Plastic Deformation, to effectively remove scratches from all paint finishes (including metallic) quickly and safely. Using a micro fibre towel and rubbing in the direction of the scratch gives the best results

I also had the same problem. I have tried out a lot of scratch removers but nothing has worked as of yet. I will try Quixx Scratch Remover and try to follow the instruction that you have given. I hope it works.
