Headlight removal
Hi guys!

My headlights are leaking water!
And i need to take them out to glue the glas firmly to the plastic.
But i cant find out how to remove them..
I took out the two bolts on top, but they are still stuck.

Model: A6 1998 2,5TDI

Any clues on how to remove them?

your on the right track, but on my 98 a4 there are two tabs on the backside of the light that clip the turn signal to the headlight.they upclip and swing out of the way and the corner signal will come out easily.then you will see the third bolt that has to be this point you can wiggle out the light.BE CAREFUL NOT TO BREAK THE CLIPS! It took me about an hour to figure out the first headlight, and about 5 mins to remove the second one. Good luck.

There are 2 screws on the inside bottom, left and right of the headlamps as well as the 2 up top. They both have to be loosend up. The screw on the bottom outside holds the bottom of the light clip in and the screw on the inside holds a bar clip which is part of the light housing itself. When you get those 2 removed which is not easy beacause of the tight location be careful when you pull the light out.
You cant pull it straight out because of the bottom inner bar clip which I mentioned above. You need to pul over slightly to the outside and then out. You can take both bottom screws out completely but it is not neccessary. You should only have to loosen them about 1/3 the way.
Hope this helps. I have a 98 audi a4 and it took me half a day because of the screws on the bottom. I am going to be looking for a tool that is the right length and has the right angle for the 2 bottom screws, especially the bottom outside screw.
