$315 for a new battery for a TT?

Hi guys could use a little help. Audi is telling me a new battery for my 3.2 2004 Audi TT will cost me $315. I know I can get batteries elsewhere and they gave me some bs reason because the installation is "more complicated," than other cars.

Can anyone install a battery into my TT? I don't why this would be anymore complicated than a Lexus or BMW and I know batteries do not cost that much for those cars.

Thanks!

Bull****, Bull****, Bull****...$315 dollars is what I paid for a dry cell racing battery for my 1990 audi coupe quattro. I would have to say that between $150-225 is more like it. And that would include any programming necessary. Stay away from the stealership...yes I said STEALERship. They are crooks and are just out to hose you cause you are a woman and to them you don't know anything. I'm almost certain you can find a battery in your neck of the woods that will work just fine and you might be able to do any of the programing necessary. But if you have any problems you always have us here willing to help you out. Good Luck Stacy! And P.S...tell the dealer to go to Hell! LOL!

Agreed the dealer is trying to pull a fast one. The biggest issue if you can call it that will be recoding the radio and if you have the code in your book then it should be quite straight forward, the battery should be located in the spare wheel well and straight forward.

Go to a specialist garage and they should be able to do the job for a fraction of what the stealers want.

Thank you all! Yes, my car is being picked up from Audi and I found a battery for $160. They said there is no reason why other places besides the dealership, cannot install it. So I am having a trusted auto mechanic that we have used for years, pick up the car and tow it to them. Audi was PISSED. Asked me why I wasn't getting it through them, asked me the price of the other battery, tire, etc. I told them I was pissed off because I have high performance tires and I went 2 miles on my run flat and it went up in smoke. And this was in a very dangerous place and it shredded down to the wheel I was a sitting duck in a construction zone at night w/ cars flying by. Damn low profile tires. I get it but 2 miles on a run flat? I know the tires I purchase are "high quality." They were mad... and I could give a rats ass... thank you all for your help! I just didn't see their excuse flying.. "computer system in the TT is more complicated.." LOL.

Good for you Stacey, we knew you had it in you to tell the Stealer to,"GO FLY A KITE". and no, your computer system in your car is no more or less complicated then the one in my 1990 Audi Cq. So the dealer can retract that BS statement. About the tires, try checking tirerack.com they ussually have a great selection of High performance tires. Including run flats. Good luck to you and keep us posted!
