Diagnostic tools / what to use

Hi,
Have purchased an A4 1.8T on a 57 plate. Not having dealt with Audi before I am looking for a good diagnostic tool that will allow troubleshooting of all modules, security access to add keys etc.

The car has been fine for a week, now today I have a key image with a red X over it appeared in the dash and a central locking problem. I would also like to add a second key.

What are your recommendations ? I would prefer to use correct dealer software if possible.

Also I canít seem to find if this car is a B7 or not.. as some tools I have looked at are not compatible with this version car.

You can't go wrong with VAGCOM. Buy the appropriate cable and download the free software on a Windows PC.
