Im at a loss - I have been on line but cant find information

What is the difference between an OBDII and a VAG-com?

Vagcom can be bought from rosstech. It is a whole different ball game than obd2. An obd2 scanner will not work on a c5.

Vagcom does everything! Hard to explain til u learn the complicated process of it all. It has all the basic functions of a dtc reader but also can reprogram stuff and more.

You can get vcds lite for pretty cheap and all u need is a cheap eBay cable then buy the software from rosstech.

I can't believe the lack of people on this forum...
