sd card reader....Help!

RSN-E; sd card reader problem for brand new owner. I am not a technology dumbass, however I cannot get the sd card reader to read either of my 2GB sd cards...one is a Lexar, one is a Kodak. I've made sure they are formatted with FAT32, I've even re-ripped my cds directly to Windows Media Center so I didn't have to worry about converting the itunes music. I then dragged the media center files and dropped them in to the sd file. The sd file shows all the new music while in the computer, but is not recognized by the car...it says "loading" the goes blank. So the card isn't nearly full (191mb) and I made sure it wasn't an sdhc...still no music in the car from the sd! I even tried wiping the card and reformatting to FAT32...and I tried to just drag music directly from the itunes library and drop it onto the sd folder and it worked but was not recognized by the car. Help please!

I had similar problems so with mine I just created a folder for each artist and converted all my files to MP3. It works fine now although I think I may try and take the folders out of the equation so the shuffle/random works better. Right now it just does a random search within each folder (artist) and then when its done it moves to the next folder.

Also make sure your cards are NOT HD cards. Some how Audi is not smart enough to keep up with that little bit of simple technology. They have to be regular SD cards and not SDHD (high density or high capacity).

That works for me anyway.

What year is the car, mine is 2009 model and I use SDHC cars all the time, they are Sandisk 8 & 16 GB I use Panasonic SDFormatter V2.0.0.3 (use Google to find) to format cards before I drag files across.
I have a folder (Car Music) which I use to put the music I want to save to the card. In this folder I make folders with the album title or folder with any mixture of music I want (I use MP3 format and db CDGrab program to convert) and MusicBrainzPicard to name tracks only if CDGrab hasn't managed it. I have never used iTunes as I prefer MP3 and I have never had any problems with this format, but you should be able to do the same with iTunes using folders etc.
I have found it's easier to make up folders and name them as album title or whatever name you want. They show up on the car display as e.g......Title......Jeff Wayne’s War Of The Worlds, click on it and it opens to show 2 folders Disc 1 & 2, click on the and you get the tracks in disc 1. I made this up using folder named Jeff Wayne’s War Of The Worlds and inside folder new folders named Disc 1 & 2 then dragged the music into relevant folders.
I think the manual for Audi symphony Sound System should help a bit or whatever system you have also it states that some makes of card might not work.

Hope this helps pm if you need any more help.

A Sandisk works great in my wife's B8 A4. When we first got her car, no other SD cards would work.

I hunted and searched ... then saw a post referring to the Sandisk. We haven't had any trouble since.
