Loose Number Plate

Since I bought My 2005 A4 Avant the rear number plate has been loose and keeps slipping down on one side, I had a look at and i can't see how it screws on. I don't want to start taking the car apart on the off chance I find the problem.
does anyone know how it screws on so I can tighten it up

I don't have an Avant but I had some metric M6 x 1.0 bolts (10mm long I think) and ended up buying some rubber-backed metal washers & nylon spacers from Home Depot. Everything fit behind the bolt head so it looks clean. From the outside going in, I used this order:

Bolt (M6 x 1.0, 10mm long)
rubber backed metal washer (metal to bolt head, rubber facing plate)
license plate
nylon spacer

I can get a pic, but again, not being an Avant, I'm not sure how different they are setup.
