ok i meesed up terminal on wrong battery install

After spending most of the night studying for an exam, upon completion, I knew I needed a battery so I went to advance auto thinking to save time thinking to save time I put the battery in myself. the plastic throw away cap was on the wrong terminal and I didn't realize it til after the following. Unaware I realized the alternator began to smoke, after taking my time tightening them. In a rash, I realized my mistake and corrected it. (I know Iím rly kicking myself). After putting it on the proper terminals I was hoping I was good to go. Then the alternator was still smoking, ughhh. So I drove out made it down the road 3 miles. Speedometers, gas basically all gauges except Radio and dash lights were gone. It was 6į outside so I decided to leave it and call my friend to pick me up. From the research Iíve done, Iím hoping itís only going to be one of the feasible fuses in the knee portion of the dash. I just wanted to post this some input before I go back out there. Took off the knee Ė cover and I see all the relays, I just need help pointing to which ones I should check, once I get a multimeter. Also I pulled off the engine he's box where the ECU is and did not find a relay there unless it is underneath the ECu.
I appreciate the feedback-
