Tyre choice for RS2 - advice appreciated

I've seen differing advice on which tyres to fit to an RS2 with original Porsche 17" rims. The tyres that came as standard on this car have been discontinued as I understand it.

So, at present the tyres I have inherited on mine are as follows:

Goodyear (not sure which model)
245/40/zr17 91Y

However I have also seen people running 225s on the RS2...any advice?

Also, I'll be changing all 4 tyres so have free choice on brand. I was thinking of going with the Toyo Proxes T1R XLs, I have these on another car and the grip is fantastic.

Any thoughts??

Stay away from Toyo. The General UHP's are very good. I've got 225's on my 1990 Cq. Use them on the track and on the street. Had them 2 years and they still look like new!

I think you'd like the performance of Dunlop, Have a look at Dunlop Drivers Club | Tyres | Details | Car | Search Results | S P Sport Maxx and they're available in the size you want.

That red coupe reminds me of my 1988 80 quattro - same colour!
