Q5 Ride

Has anyone any experience with changing the tires on a 2015 Q5 3Lt from 235 x 55 x 19 back to 235 x 65 x 17 to soften the ride. I have adjustable dampers that are set to comfort but the ride is still harsh for my wife who has back problems. I am wondering if this tire change may help.

Just my opinion here...

You might consider an A4 or A6 sedan for their softer ride. It is a fact that the sedans do ride softer than the Q variants regardless of wheelbase.
You are on the right path though. A taller sidewall on a tire will soften things up.

Good luck

I did make this change and it did improve the ride slightly but not enough. I have previously had a A6 but prefer the SUV Q5. After riding in a friends Mercedes GLC250 with air suspension I decided to try the Q5 with air. Vast improvement. It takes a lot of the harshness out on rough roads.

I wish that the air suspension was available on the Q5's here in the US.
