Require advice to remove air suspension

Hello to all, I have purchased a new Arnott air bag for my leaking rear suspension. I put the system into jacking mode, removed the wheel, let the air out of the air lines, then removed top bolts as per instuctions. I then loosened the lower bolt ready for removal. The instuctions then say :- "Push down on top bracket to collapse the bag" then remove by lifting upwards. Trouble is -- the bag has a mind of its own. it keeps wanting to open back up, even though it has no air line attached. Tried with the lower bolt out but still no luck.
Just had to put it back together for the time being, till I get more info of you guys, The Model is a 2.5 Ltr Allroad 2001

Hope for some response on this one. Thank you.
