Mechanical problem audi a4 1997?

mechanical problems with my audi a4 1997.. help urgently needed?
my car vibrates when you accelerate, but the minute you take the foot of the accelerator it stops.. it vibrates/shakes when i accelerate up to a certain speed or rpm sorta thing and stops doing this if the car has been running for a while.. i've looked it up online and nothing seems to help.. so far my mechanic has changed the cv joints/shaft and also a valve.. neither were successful. he seems to think that it is the torque converter? does anyone know? also i think my MFS needs replacing, could this be the problem?

any suggestions would be so helpful, it's driving me crazy.. my car has been at the mechanics for over a month and nothing is working. does anyone know where i can find answers to this problem?
