I am looking for some help and advise as to what i need to do to get the best power out of my Audi.
I want to have it re-mapped but have been told to do other modifications before having it re-mapped!
Can anyone help/point me in the right direction.
A good first mod depends on your end game, and what you want out of the car (more power, handling, braking etc). You mentioned remapping so it seems like you were referring to an ecu tune and/or a tcu (transmission) tune. These are great places to start with Audi's, or any turbo'd car really. They are easy to do, and produce noticeable gains in power. I would recommend that your first mod be an ecu and tcu. I say get both an ecu and tcu tune because when paired together you get the most out of the tuning experience. For remapping/tuning your car you want to make sure you get a flash from home capable product that hooks up via OBD-II. I am partial to flash from home because the convenience of being able to tune, datalog, and revert to stock from your own house is a huge plus vs having to go to a shop every time you want to revert to stock or put a tune back on your car. For tuning I think the two best flash from home tuners out there are Unitronic and Eurodyne. I person ran the Unitronic stage 1+ ecu and stage 1 tcu tune on my 15 S3, and will be flashing my RS3 with unitronic. They offer noticeable gains in power while maintaining OEM like driving feel.
Unless you are NA I wouldn't recommend going bolt on first then tuning second, least not with how tunes are done in this segment of car. For example Unitronic has stage 1, stage 1+, stage 2, and stage 2+ occasionally. Typically stage 1, and stage 1 + tunes (91 octane, and 93 octane tunes respectively) are typically meant to be run with out any supporting bolt ons. To be clear you can run bolt on's with these tunes, but if you than you may as well go stage 2 once bolt on's come into play. Stage 2 tunes are typically meant to be run with an intake, and down pipe/exhaust system. Typically with tuning companies you can just buy a stage 1 tune, and when you are ready for bolt ons buy a stage 2 tune at a discounted rate. This discounted rate will basically run you the same amount of money as if you just bought a stage 2 tune upfront so you aren't spending extra by going from stage 1 to stage 2. I hope this helps man. You may also want to do what a lot of us do, and post on multiple audi forums.
Seems ever thread in this forum are just open questions... And no answers..

Yea, you spend 20 minutes on this forum trying to reach your 10 post minimum then find out large portions of this forum are vacant. There are other audi forums out there I would recommend if you want more replies, and more info.
