: Help With 2008 TT Tire Noise And Ride

I recently purchase a 2008 certified Audi TT (2.0 liter, front wheel drive). I have noticed that there is excessive tire noise (a whirring sound that is very noticeable at 10 mph and quite noisy at 60mph) a very jarring ride when going over interstate expansion joints (not to mention potholes and rough pavement).

The car has 23K miles on it and the tires are Pirelli P Zero Nero (18 245/40 M&S) - with a tread depth of 3/16 to 1/4".

The other two Audi TT's I've driven were both were quieter and more comfortable (although I did not get either up to 65 mph).

Any suggestions? . . . Quiet, softer tires? . . . Or? My wife is not terribly pleased with either the sound level or the effect on her back.

Outside of these two items we love the car.

I am experiencing the same with my 2009 TT. I have the Dunlop Sport Run Flats. If your tires are the Pirelli Run Flats, then this is due to the tire configuration. Switching to regular (non run flat tires) will help.
