Hey guys,

I am almost finished making a deal with someone to get a 02' audi tt 1.8t quattro for 12.5k w/ 68k miles on it.

Is this a good deal?

I heard that the 1.8t engine starts having a lot of problems after 60k miles, is this also true?

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
D

Timing belt, if it hasn't been changed yet (usually a 60k service), will run you $3100, roughly.

If someone one is paying $3k for a service then they are a fool.

Look for a specialist you will save loads, in regards to problems this should only be the case if the car was not looked after and the turbo cooled down correctly, other than that you should be good to go with just routine maintenance parts.

I would also drop in a new DV while you are at it.
