loss of power

I have 2001 Passat diesel 100 PD, it is losing power when i drive it, one moment its fine then it suddenly goes flat. When i stop and restart the engine it seems to reset itself until the next time? the air flow meter has been changed also the sensor for the coolant has also been changed its still in the garage and a code linked to the sensor is not clearing itself. the mechnic is about to do some more 'digging' he has said it might be something to do with the turbo wastegate, can anybody help as the car has been in the garage for 9 days now. cheers

yes it sounds like the turbo,boost pressure exceeded or required limit not reached,make sure all vacuum pipes are ok and n75 working if all ok then it sounds like the variable vaines are sticking in the turbo and new unit required
