Default 06 Jetta TDI wheel bearing or CV noise

I have a 2006 Jetta TDI with 55K miles. Started making a loud groaning noise up front a few thousand miles back. It is not exhaust related. Noise starts up at 30 mph and stays loud right on up to higher speeds. Gets louder making right hand turns. I suspect wheel bearings - especially left front which would get more load in a right hand turn and thus get louder. Also could be CV joint or CV boot. Got any ideas? I can tackle a hub/bearing change OK. CV might be over my head. Also, please recommend a good online source for parts. Many Thanks!
