Default 2001 1.9 Tdi Electric Window Problem?

Hi, my golf has a strange electric window prob... All of the windows wouldn't work so i took it to the garage and the bloke there took the battery terminals off and left it then put them back on and they worked again... all was ok until i went to jump start it off another vehicle but after I had jumped started it they had all failed again? i have replaced the battery but they still don't work? any ideas much appreciated!! The bloke at the garage said something about a comfort control module and that it needs to be re-coded?

Thanks!
