I am thinking about making my next car a Jetta. Ideally, I would look for a 2000-ish 2.0L, with a STD tranny. Are there any faulty/weak parts on this car? To get a better idea, I now have a 2000 2.0L auto Mazda 626, and while I love the reliability of the engine, the tranny on those cars-the cd4e-has brittle transmission-plates, causing premature tranny failure. Is there anything to watch out for on 97+ Jettas? Also, in terms of long-term reliability, how reliable are they compared to, oh say a Camry? Thanks in advance.
