Golf mk4 engine codes

I'm looking to buy a mk4 Golf Tdi in the next week or so and was wondering if there is an easy way of visually idenitfying whether the engine is a 90, 100, 110, 115, 130 etc. I believe there is an engine code but that's about all I know, any info would be appreciated.

You need to find the vehicle emission control information label underneath your hood. It should be located near your engine. It has all the information you need about your engine's size. Good luck.
