Troubleshooting assistance please

How's it going?

Issue background: I have a 1999.5 new jetta with the 2.0l engine w/DIS. When driving, I step on the gas and the car sputters, feels like it is choking.

The car threw a code for the o2 sensor so I replaced both, I also replaced the spark plugs, cables and fuel filter hoping to solve the issue but the car is still doing it.

Any insight on this issue?

also check air filter and passage ways.

Thanks for your input. I resolved the issue; it turned out that I needed to replace the fuel injectors and mass air flow sensor, the car is running as it should now.
