hi everyone, have recently fitted a new sony unit to my golf gt tdi mk 4. when i return to the car after removing the ignition key, the unit has reset itself back to the start of the cd! but it still holds the radio presets so its not devoid of permanent live during my absence. i have wired it as advised by the hi fi expert in halfords (i believe the switched live and permanent live are opposite in vw/audi cars)?
hardly a major problem but i'd rather have it right than wrong. anyone able to advise? cheers guys. marcus |

hi, im not %100 sure on this, but if the head unit is remembering the station settings and the custom sound settings etc, the restart of the cd to the beginning could well be a design flaw of the head unit itself. try changing a couple of settings, like your bass and treble, if it remembers those, its nothing to do with your wiring im afraid.
one thing i must mention though.... 'experts at halfords' is a contradiction of terms  ![]() |
