hey everyone,i drive a 98 audi A4 2.8l quattro (sportline) and i plan on buying some performance springs, however i'm not buying shocks quite yet. the springs will be put on the car after winter, and once they're on i'll be purchasing f/r sway bars. if my shocks blow is it an issue or is it just the ride thats sacrificed. if it's the ride that's sacrificed i can deal w/ it b/c ive driven in many cars w/ blown shocks and i don't mind it. but i do plan on buying shocks also, just not in the near future!!!
thanx -mandoh |

Hi, it depends how low you're planning to go? Your shox will tolerate a mild drop but anything more than 40mm and you'll need to change them. Most shock absorbers are designed to work within a certain range of movement, anything beyond this range and they'll overheat thus reducing their lifespan. If you go too low you'll ruin the handling of your car, but a mild drop is ok
