I have changed my tires from 205/60/16 to 215/55/16 and i'm not quite sure i have done the right thing. Any help please

Why do you say that? Are you having problems with the car or tires? The size change you have made shouldn't be that significant. A little lower profile (60 vs. 55) and tire width (205 vs. 215).
What make/model were you old tires? What are the new tires?

My new tires are Bridgestone TURANZA and the old ones were Pireli P7.
