Hey man I just picked up a DDM slim ballast HID kit this weekend at So Cal Euro and I'm looking for the easiest way to install this ballast. I saw the plug at the end of the ballast was hoping for a quick plug and play kind of install, but when I got my headlight out and apart, I saw that there was no hope for that easy of an install.

How should I go about connecting my ballast with the normal headlight wiring plug? Is there a quick and easy solution to this or am I going to have to actually cut the guard off of the ballast plug, remove the wiring plug from my headlight wiring, and the jimmy this stuff together? I know, it's not really that much work... I'm just trying to avoid going to any unnecessary lengths for this installation.

Thanks in advance.

What kind of car is this? What kind of kit did you purchase? Is it the right bulb type kit for the car? Everything should be plug and play into the stock housing. I have never had an Audi customer be required to splice any wiring.

I'm installing this in a B5 A4. I made sure to get H7 bulbs. I assumed this was all going to be plug and play but the wiring plug for the head lights doesn't plug right into the ballast plug. I bought this kit directly from some DDM guys. They had a lot of BMW accessories and I'm beginning to wonder if they sold me the bimmer ballast kit with the bulbs that I need. They didn't make any stipulations over the kind of car I was installing this in though, just the bulb type.

I'm at work right now but I'll try to get some pics up later.

Well the OEM wiring doesn't plug into the ballast directly. The bulb wiring has a grommet around it in which there are also two more wires. Those are the OEM adapter cables that plug into the ballast on one end and to the OEM wiring on the other. H7 bulbs use spade connectors on the HID kit.

This is what I'm working with.

These are the guys I bought it from: HID Xenon Kits, HID Bulbs, HID Accessories

I understand that how to connect the bulbs to the ballast. There are two wires coming from the bulb that obviously connect directly to their two opposing wires coming out of the ballast. My issue is getting the ballast input power cord connected to the OEM headlight wiring plug. It looks like I'm going to have to cut some stuff out of the way and then splice everything together.

I wasn't talking about plugging the bulbs in... There are two other wires that are the OEM adapter cables. You can see them in your picture in fact.

Is DDM Tuning not giving you any customer support on this?

Haven't tried getting in touch with them about this yet. I picked up a business card from one of the guys at the booth and I plan on getting in contact with him later today.

I assumed I'd be able to find some kind of DIY on this if it wasn't as straight forward as I'd originally assumed it would be, but I haven't been able to find one. I feel like I'm missing something obvious here...

I'll see what I can get worked out. If these guys are completely unresponsive, I'll be back on this thread.
