Default A3 1.6 hp upgrade?

Hi everyone, i drive a 2000 1.6 A3 and am looking to up it hp but dont know where to start. I thought about a chip/remap but not sure what to do. Has anyone any ideas please?

Hi Jenko, you mentioned a re-map/chip, this could be an option but you don't get the big gains which are mentioned for turbo vehicles. I could be wrong but you're not going to see any more than 10bhp if you're very lucky (more like 5-8bhp). What is your budget?

Unfortunately, power tuning a non turbo car is a costly affair (if you're looking for big gains) You can up your power on a turbo car by as much as 40% with just a Re-map, but that's the beauty of having a turbo.
Power on a budget can be acheived with Nitrous oxide, but its not the kind of thing you'd use readily! It's straight line stuff really.
If you're looking for a bit of mild tuning, I would say the route tends to be exhaust and high flow cat first. Air intakes give varied results but mainly just give a better noise (making it sound fast)
