Hi Guys,
Anyone ever thought or come across this comparision before? I know the 330d is meant to be a pretty quick car, with also 60bhp more than my 1.8T and more torque, but in real life, it's not quicker at all. Tonight a 330d came racing up behind me with his xenons blinding me, then swiftly over taking me. I caught up with him at some lights. Adrelanine pumping, we went for it. My A4 keeping a good car length ahead, all the way to a speed I shall not mention. However, on paper, this car should reach 100kmh a second quicker than my A4. Anyone else come across this? Is the 1.8T 163bhp under estimated?? |

I would have thought that the diesels shorter torque band is what held it back. Your petrol engine has greater power over a greater range of revs... where does the power stop - between 5 and 6K? My TDi runs out of steam at about 3k!
