Default 2.8 Cab Power Steering Pp

Hi All,
new to the Forum and so hallo to everybody. I have a 2.8 1999 Cab that has developed a leak on the Pump itself ( according to the Audi main dealer ). Having recovered from the £900 estimate I have sourced a substantially cheaper genuine new replacement. Good so far but the drawback is that for my Chassis No. there are two types, a 3-Port and a 2-Port. Does anybody out there know if you can ID which is the version fitted by an external inspection rather than having to view once the unit is out. I ask as it would be far more convenient with less car downtime if it could be decided prior to removal.
Thanks in advance
