93 100cs Fuel Pump

Recently my normally perfectly functioning Audi left me stranded on the freeway. I've narrowed the problem down to the fuel system and today I plan to replace the fuel pump relay. Hopefully that will help, and it will fire up like it always does. But if it doesn't I'd like some information on the removal of the Fuel Pump. I know in most cars the Tank has to be dropped, seals have to be broken, and basically it's a hassle. I was hoping, no praying that Audi was smart enough to make this process easier. If you could give me some insight I'd be extremely grateful. Thank you for your time.
