Hi,
Im looking at doing a fly drive to the states next year and was just looking at petrol/gas prices over there in the states... i knew you guys were cheaper than us for fuel but my finding are crazy!!... how much cheaper!! I have found that the average price on the west cost is about $3.098 Per gallon, -- (UK terms £1.60 GBP for 5 litres, 0.32p per litre) Where as here in the UK we / I pay just under £5.00 GBP per gallon which converts to $9.3722 USD per gallon!! so here in the Uk its cost me normally just under £60.00 GBP to fill my car from near empty, thats converts to $112.467 USD for one tank of fuel.......... per week... So if i filled up my car in the US.. it would cost $40.27 or £21.00 GBP... As you can see here in the UK we are hit hard on the fuel price!! hence why people here are going diesel to get more MPG... where as you guys dont get the diesel for that reason... not much of a cost effect market i guess!!! and you guys get to run around a big gas guzzles 4 and 5 litre engines!!! where as here it would really sting ya on fuel!!! Please post your comments!! Rickt |

Yes,say what you will, but we do enjoy lower fule prices over here and prices are going down
! I'm paying on average ~ $2.50 per gallon (~ 4 liters) for Premimum (RON>91). It's sort of hard to find the really high octane stuff in my local market. I saw today that Regular Unleaded (87) was going for $2.07 a gallon. However this was at a Citgo station which is owned by the Venezualan government. I think they are trying to make nice after their President's (wacko) comments at the UN this week . Diesel is running higher at ~$2.75. American's just do not seem to like diesel cars. I think the sound reminds us to much of the big semi tractor trucks. Come on over mate! Rent a car at JFK and drop it off at LAX. Shouldn't take you more than 4 or five days for the drive. All are welcome. |
