A. Ok This is not a couple of words answer so here goes!! First they sandblast the pan to create a lot of microscratches on its surface. Then they spray on a coat of Teflon primer. This primer, like most primers, is thin, enabling it to flow into the the micro-scratches. The primed surface is then baked at high heat, causing the Teflon to solidify and get a reasonably secure mechanical grip. Next you spray on a finish coat and bake that. (The Teflon finish coat will stick to the Teflon primer coat just fine.)

Q: Why do cats always land on there feet when they fall ??

A. They don't. Studies have shown that a cat dropped from 7 stories up have a 30% less chance of survival than a cat dropped from 22 stories up. According to studies, it takes a cat about 8 stories of falling to realize what has happened, relax itself and make the correction.

Q. Where'd you find that Teflon answer at? That's the best one I've ever heard.

A. Good old Google search gave me the answer straight away !! The Straight Dope: If Teflon is nonsticky, how do they get it to stick to the pan?
