Welcome, the auto boxes can be troublesome, check a fluid change has been done..

The 2.8 may be a little underpowered for the A8 as you can get the 3.7 or 4.2 in this model too !!

The insurance is very high on the A8 too as it has all aluminuim body so is an insurance company nightmare if you prank it !!

Quite a thirsty car too .... expect 18- 25 mpg max round town ...
