Smile light problem

hi,

l`m new here myself, whilst l`ll admit to loving audi`s they`ve developed a tendency to make a practical car more & more technical. l had a 1992 100e, and met with similar problems, your fuses maybe okay but it sounds like a relay is either sticking or faulty. if you can locate the relay behind the dash, or better still if you have a workshop manual alternatively (here`s a tip, l went into my local audi dealer and asked nicely if they`d supply info for the car and they did) it`ll show you where to look, swap it with a replacement and it should solve the problem, also clean your earths at the front & rear of the car. that may stop the exhaust lights coming on or the switch at the gearbox is faulty if not you may have a short somewhere in the loom test it on a meter to find it.

hope this helps.
