Default Bubble here.

Hi guys.

I joined the forum, after searching for a way to add sat nav after the fact.

Took delivery of Sarah earlier this week, and I am so in love! I sleep with the keys next to my bed. J

Just some background, my previous car was a 2002 bmw 325ti.

I am not a journalist), please forgive the boringness…here follows some thing I love about my car.

First off, I love the Tiptronic; I can actually drive civilized now. It takes some getting used to, but once you do, its all cool. The gear changes are very smooth and the paddles behind the steering wheel comes in handy when you want to go out of a corner in a lower gear, a very cool gimmick. Just don’t expect neck snappin gear changes.

The engine is really not as noticeable once your inside and it really is very responsive, very free revving, even though the redline comes in after 4 so you get through your gears pretty quickly. It is a diesel after all.

This thing moves, It really has no problem reaching 200, and it feels so solid at high speed, def a cruiser of note. I did a bit of benchmark on one of our roads, and the audi is def faster than the Ti. Well I suppose 165kw and 450nm torques will do it. this sounds so cliché , but the sensation of speed in this car is very minimal, I easily find myself doing 130km/h when I’m not supposed to…

Coming from a 3series, you can definitely feel this is a huge car! Its not as nimble as the ti, but it is an amazing “high speed” cruiser. I have the sport suspension, so ride is firm , but it handles bumps very smoothly, and body roll is really at a minimum, considering it’s a huge car.

I have had a few moments where I tried to park the car, its gonna take some getting used to, and this is where I wished that the car had pdc.

The mmi is great! Really easy to control and set up. I do however don’t really see the use if there is no sat nav, but I am happy none the less that I have it. You can control almost everything from it. I spoke to Jan-Louis on this forum and he has retro fitted the sat nav, so I hope to do that in the near future.

This brings me to the coming home lights. I know this is such a common feature now a days, but it still impresses me, and the wing mirrors come with some led’s to light up the floor where you will open the door, tre cool! The auto dazzling mirrors also takes some getting used to.

Things I would have loved to have:

*satnav (soon not a prob anymore)
*active cruise control
*homelink (would have been a nice to have)
*the automatic boot opener, it would be a cool gadget. But probably not really a big deal.
*pdc, this is a mother of a car!
*electric seats, for the memory function. Both me and my wife drives the car.

So yes, it doesn’t have all the cool options, but it is a great car none the less, and a big upgrade from the bmw. There is still lots I can rave on about, but I guess I have to stop typing now.

Ps: I found a great surprise this morning, a towbar! The salesman didn’t even know there was one, I save 8 grand . yay!

please excuse the dirty car, it rained after i took delivery.

now who is gonna chauffer me ?
