It Just Shuts Down!

Hello Everyone Thanks For Excepting Me In. I Have A 1999.5 A4, 1.8 Turbo. Recentely Either When The Car Is On Idol Or I'm Driving The Car Shuts Down. I Try To Start It Right A Way But It Won't Start. It Needs A Few Seconds Before It Kicks Over Again. I Changed The Fuel Pump Relay Thinking It Might Be That But No Dice. It's Very Frustrating As You Know. My Mechanic Tried To Figure It Out And The Vag Won't Show Any Faults. Can Someone Please Help. Thanks
