Default Hello

Hello all, I'm totally new to the Audi scene/culture, and just looking to gain some insight on the A4's. I don't have an Audi, but just started to look into them, and they seem like a pretty good car. I've already got a 1991 Eclipse GSX and a 2002 Nissan Sentra SER SpecV. I'll probably be selling/trading the Sentra to get an Audi, but need to research a little more. I'm a little disappointed by the stock numbers on the 1.8T, but look like they have a decent tuning potential.

Welcome,

Well the Audi 1.8T or should I just say the 1.8T as it is used in all the VAG range is well catered for and just a chip on a late A4 B5 will get you 20 around 210bhp. After that you are looking at larger Turbo's like K04-15 which will get you 240bhp then GT28RS (300-330bhp) and upwards.

The engines are good for around 320bhp before you need a set of Rods.

Don't be put off by the numbers... Germans sandbag for a reason... A stock A4 will stomp the guts out of any japanese car (fwd) with considerably more "horsepower." If you like your GSX, you will love the A4, and quattro awd is the best on the planet. There is a lot of support from the aftermarket, and at reasonable prices as well. Listen to Doc, he knows whats up...

(even though hes on the "other side of the pond") haha, j/k doc.

I ended up going out and test driving an 08 2.0T Quattro last night. It was a pretty nice car, however, I wasn't truly that impressed. Obviously it was stock, but felt quite a bit slower than my mildly modded Eclipse. I'm glad that I did go out and drive one, I just don't think it's the car for me right now, especially for the 34K they wanted for it.
