Hi everybody!
I'm thinking of buying an Audi A4 saloon (of some description) once I have sorted a few things. Most notably scrapping my BMW E36 racer. I have always loved the A4 ever since I first saw the Quattro destroying the BTCC feild in '96. I'm 25 in a few weeks and will have (hopefully) 5 years no claims in October. Just wondering what I'd be looking at insurance, running costs, parts, etc, etc for an A4 on roughly a 96 plate. My goal is this... ![]() ... a period BTCC replica. Quattro if possible. Be fantastic for track days and running up at Santa Pod. Any help would be much appreciated!!! |

Welcome to the forum yogi
![]() Go for the 1.8 T as a good start as you can easily up the bhp with mods... Parts are easily obtainable, insurance not too bad, should do 30 mpg easy if your not too heavy footed... Let us know what you buy ...

Hi there t-sport thanks for the welcome.
I'm contemplating either a 1.8t or the v6. I'd love a quattro first and foremost. I've been looking at auto trader and ebay etc for prices and they seem to be rather reasonable, bearing in mind that as a general rule audi's seem to hold their value pretty well. I've got three possible paint schemes to do, (i'll be building a track day car if i haven't already explained it) The original '96 colours, the 04 redbull colours, or a combination of both in my team colours.... Any thoughts? |
