My airbag light will come on when I start the car and temperatures outside are about 72 degrees or less. The warmer it is, the quicker it begins to flicker and then goes off. On very cold days, this may take 10 miles.
On warm days, it does not come on at all at any time. This is the little red icon on the dashboard around the speedometer dial--near where the check engine light would be. It is not the light involved with turing off and on the passenger side airbag.
I brought it to the dealer and they hooked it up to their little machine

and they say that it is not throwing up any diagnostic codes--not a one.

They said they could get into pin tests or something like that put were not enthusiastic about doing it because it might run up a big repair bill for a small problem. They think the airbag is probably working just fine.
Also, unrelated, this car is at about 36,000 miles, driven moderately in city traffic, but no rush hour grinding around. When will the timing belt need replacing to be reasonably safe?
Thanks (and that goes for all y'all)
