Default Nice to be a member

Just a quick note to say Hello and nice to see that there is somewhere to go for help or a chat. I'll try not to be too boring, but am aware that my old fashioned English is a bit odd to those who are used to textese.

I have owned three VWs and now an Audi B7 Avant 2.0 TDI, the first car being a 1960 1200 Beetle, and more recently two 1.9 TDI Golf Variants immediately before the Audi.

There is also a 1953 R-Type Bentley hiding at the back of the garage, awaiting the re-installation of the engine after a rebuild that cost nearly as much as the B7!

Cheers and best wishes

Hi John and Welcome to the forum.
Any chance of posting pictures of the cars?
It's always a good way to get more replies.

Mavala, thank you for your kind response. I have a bit more to learn about driving computers before I could do anything as technical as inserting an image by referring to its URL!

The A4 is quartz with a black interior and the add-on pack that includes load restraints, a dog guard and window blinds, and has 17" 16 spoke wheels. The dog is a miniature Schnauzer who seems to like motoring.

The Bentley is at present a d-i-y kit since I had to dismantle the front end to get the engine out, and I am sure that you can imagine what sort of cans of worms we found, so it has turned into a sort of retirement task. I intend to retire fairly soon, and hope to get the Bentley back on the road while I still have some faculties left!

with best regards

Thank you, James. I hope the A4 meets with your expectations. We in UK are now approaching 10 US $ per gallon for fuel, either petrol or diesel, so 3.2 litres of engine is a bit beyond my pocket!

with best regards
