New to Audis, not so new to wrenching.
Hey all. My name is Cara, and after doing a lot of research, I just bought a 2000 S4.
I'm always working on my other car (Mustang), right now I'm putting in an engine I just built.
My S4...
I am guessing from the dealer work that had been done by the second (or third, I can't tell) owner, that the previous guy had had an aftermarket exhaust system at the very least. The car had had a lot of repair work done (mostly under warranty), and is in mostly good condition now.
A couple issues are that the wiper fluid (pump motor?) doesn't work, the lumbar portion of the heated seat is inoperable, and there is a coolant smell coming from the engine (when I checked the level, it was under minimum. All of these issues I didn't fully notice during the test drive before I bought the car.
After my initial dissapointment, I figure I can fix these and it should all be back to normal. I paid too much for this much to be broken. Next time I buy a car from a private seller, I'm going on a nice sunny day and bringing my own tools or taking it to an Audi dealer!!!
I do like the car and the handling, it is very crisp and responsive, and the AWD is great with Blizzaks in the snow.
The car has stainless braided brake lines, an engine snub mount, and RS4 intercoolers, and a Tanoga Shortshifter. I'll have to wait until it's in the garage to see if there is anything else.
