Question problem, need help -- key fob eats batteries

Hi:

I'm new to the forum and I appreciate any advice I can get here. Thanks in advance.

I have a 2002 TT coupe, which is generally a great car. But in the past year, I've had to replace the batteries in the key fob about every 2 to 3 months.
Both key fobs behave the same problem. The batteries are not cheap, so I don't want to keep on this way if there's a better solution.

Is this a common problem? Are there know solutions?

Thanks very much.

Hi dpw.

Strange one, not sure what to advise!

If it was just in one keyfob i might have suggested it being faulty electronics but both, that dam unlucky!
