I have come across an awsome deal on a newer twin turbo Audi engine, and want to use it for a new project vehicle I am building. I will use an all standalone ecu system, so that isn't a concern at this point. However I am trying to figure out which transmission to use.

What type of pattern do these engines use? Will a GM or Ford, or some other tranny bolt up to it, or will I have to build some type of adapter?

im assuming you're talking about the 2.7t engine (awesome..). Try to find a B5 S4 tranny for an easy bolt on. It'll be a 6speed, and be capable of dealing with ~500hp stock.

Yes, I know a stock Audi Trans would bolt right up to it. However I need to use an american (chevy, ford, dodge) transmission to work with the rest of the vehicle. I just figured I may luck out and these engines would share the same bolt pattern, but I'm guessing that is not the case.

BTW If it doesn't work I'll have to make an adapter to make it work. The last car we built has a WRX engine, with a GM powerglide tranny.

We are a professional RockCrawling team, and are building a new rockcrawler. Anyone else have any ideas on this?

I'm going to pick up the engine in the morning, so I guess I'll just have to get some measurments.

Edit: I forgot to add a link to our website. The blue car shown on the site is powered by a Subaru engine, mated to a GM powerglide tranny, and was last years car. We have another new car we just finished with a turbo charged subaru in a mid engine configuration, just haven't put any pics up on the site yet.
