Default A6 remove glove box CD changer

I am trying to fix an improper install of a Gateway 500 device and I need to remove the CD changer in the glove box to get to it. Can someone tell me how to do this? I understand I need some special key to get it out - is there any other way to do this? If not, where can I get the key?

Also, I have been having some problems with the Gateway 500 in that it does not always get detected by the CD changer. Twice now it dissapeared and did not become available until I restarted the car. The dealer did not install the "optional" USB and RCA cables so I cannot upgrade the bios in the device at this time.

Thanks for your help.
