Hi
I've a 1.8T Avant, with factory fitted mud-flaps that seem to be scraping when going over bumps in the road, is this normal? I had a problem with Oil Pump and Turbo a while back and when that was resolved, the belly pan was not fitted back correctly. I thought the scraping noise may have been that, but now I've fitted that properly, something is still scraping the road when going over road-humps, or just when on a bumpy road. (I live in Ireland, so that happens a lot!) I think it's the mud-flaps hitting the road, but can anyone point me to what this may be being caused by? Sorry, I'm not exactly mechanically minded, but I figure it could be, Suspension Struts, Suspension Springs, or Suspension Bushes, or something else. Can anyone advise how to work out what may be the root cause, and recommend a fix? It's not that ciritical but I'd rather get it fixed if at all possible. Thanks JMG |
