Hi Guys...

Sorry to intrude on your post but i gotta 2001 A4 1.9tdi with 55k miles.....im told by Audi that the belt should be changed every 4 years or 60k miles whichever comes first.....ive also asked an independant dealership n they say it should be changed at 60k miles.... the reason im asking is cos ive just had a service n im due n MOT, but wud rather wait for the 60k miles to come around cos money is tight at the mo.......... hope u can appreciate that??

are there any checks i could do to verify the cambelt requires changing? i understand the consequences if it does snap sooner which wud leave me even more outta pocket but i would just some reassurance that its ok to drive till 60k comes around....

Cheers guys ur help is much appreciated.

remove the cambelt cover and inspect both sides of the belt for cracking

Do not try to save money on a old cam belt ,you must change it when audi says so or it will destroy the engine if it breaks
