Hello to all performance lovers

Hi guys. I got a 2004 S4, tiptronic. In the first gear (below about 2000 rpm) the car hesitates like as something preventing it to accelerate. And above 2000 rpm it really speeds up. Any idea why? (i have changed spark plugs and filters and also cleaned the injectors). I had test drive a manual S4 and the car jumps from the very starting rpm in the first gear.
i am thinking may be is from the transmission. is it a good idea to change transmission oil? I also want to upgrade the performance. Is it good idea to remove the catalyst convertor? How about Cold-air intake? Any idea about best performance chip out there? i know lots of you guys already twick your car. I would like to hear from you.

Hey man, welcome to the forum. The cause of your hesitation could be caused by numerous things. Do you have a check engine light on? If you don't have a VAG COM you're gonna need to get one, that's the Audi diagnostic scan tool and you can do some other stuff with it as well.

It can't hurt to change fluids.

Giac makes some pretty good tunes so you may want to look into them. Here are a few links to shop around at.

Thanks a lot for your help. i've got some works to do now and that is fun. i let you know how did it go. by the way wht do u think about chnging the exhust system to Miltek?? it sound really nice but any bad efect on the car?

I have heard nothing bad about Miltek. You may want to look into a whole exhaust system though insted of just from the cats back just in case that was the route you were going. You will only benefit performance wise if you do the whole thing. Changing out the muffler only will only give you a nice sound and that's pretty much it.
