4.2 from allroad the same as S4?

So, is the 4.2 from the allroad basically the same as the 4.2 from the S4? I love the S4 and was thinking about a 04 to replace my current civic. This would be my first Audi. Now, every time I go on vacation I hate how little room I have in my civic, particularly camping. So i started swaying from the S4 because as much as i love performance, i still picture a cramped ride up to the mountains. After reading up on the allroad, it seams like a S4 version of the A6 wagon. With that in mind, would any S4 fanatics know if the performance mods for the S4 work on the 4.2 from the allroad? I guess what i am getting at.. if i get a allroad, can i make it into a more functional S4?
