Bought a Certified 2006 A4 Quattro 2.0w/ 22,000 miles on it 5-27-08 from an Audi dealer. Dealer Certification indicated 70% brakes left on front/60% left on rear. 4,000 miles later brake warning is on and dealer says front brakes and rotors need replacing. They say no probs. w/ calipers or anything else - just "typical wear". Does anyone else think this is ludicrous? What's the AVERAGE life on brakes & rotors for this vehicle? Have had other issues w/ which checklist said were fine and working and definitely weren't. Not happy with the "certified" experience.

had the exact same thing happen to me but was told by dealer brakes were 40% or better. about 1000 miles later light came on and I called Audi, they said that the light comes on when pads are about 10% life left and that the inner pads wear faster than the outer. Called up my dealer and they are actually fixing the brakes right now....and it's 'supposed' to be free so they better not try to throw a bill my way.
