I own a 2003 A4 with a 3.0 V6 Quattro and was wondering what the consensus was on when to replace in terms of mileage. Since it's a V6 and not a 4 I think there's more wiggle room. I talked to my auto shop and they recommended 90K. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Yes, I am replying to my own posting, which is slightly pathetic, but I thought I'd share this tidbit with anyone who cared:
I talked to the local Audi dealer to hear from the horses' mouth and they said 85K was the recommended mileage for a timing belt replacement and since I'm close to 70K it might be prudent to have the belt checked out when my next oil change comes up just to make sure it's not looking too worn and shabby. They said that belt breakage before the 85K was rare, but to err on the side of caution especially if you like to put the pedal to the metal. |
